I really enjoy this app. It works great on Mac and iPhone.
Currently holding my Chiefmate unlimited oceans, this app was vital to me upgrading. I grew up using upgrade U but there is no comparison. Hammer the general modules on here till you’re making 90’s, in conjunction with lapware later on towards the end before testing and you will do just fine. Remember to test on the practice exams from the USCG website. Those exams will be very similar to the questions you will see exam day. 🫡
App works much better after the recent fix to the last mega update. I’m studying for my CM/Master Unlimited and this is my go-to app for studying. I love how it tracks your problem areas so you know what needs to be improved. Thank you for taking the time to respond to my last feedback post and fix the issue. You guys are great!!

This is all you need to pass the 4 exams the app is great and is way more relevant information than other platforms. Cannot recommend them enough.full disclosure i tried the books and MA and was far superior in every aspect.I rarely leave reviews but this deserves it
I was having issues with the UI and the app crashing. I reached out to customer service and they helped me resolve all of these issues. They were quick to respond and clear in their explanation on how to fix the problems I was having. I highly recommend this app. Currently studying for my 500ton mate’s tests.

After having recently passed my 500 ton after a couple of attempts spanning over multiple years, I can say with the utmost certainty that this app is one of the only things that you really need to prepare for a uscg national license exams. The creator of Sea Trials is dedicated, and you can tell that they truly care about their product. Will continue to pay for my subscription just to support such an invaluable resource for any mariner looking to upgrade their license.

I am studying for my third engineers unlimited and this app is by far the best resource. I like the offline feature which allows me to study even while at sea. definetly recommend if your upgrading or hawsepiping!
The best all around app for your Coast Guard exam. Tracks all your practice test progress and tells you how to break down those dreaded confusing questions of multiple "correct" answers.

This is much more user friendly than Upgrade-U. However, I do recommend getting both. Sea Trials is better for learning the material, but does not have to ability to make tests for you unlike Upgrade U.
Some questions are wrong, but that’s the coastguard fault and you can report them to the creators. But like the books with you 24/7. I practice at the gym doing cardio waiting for stuff. Perfect instead of scrolling the gram or mindless Facebook

This is a very convenient app. It has a ton of questions that are also covered with mariner advancement. It’s nice when you have a few minutes downtime, you can just log in and start going over questions.
So far the app has been really helpful and easy to use. No complaints thus far
The setups on this app isn’t bad at all. I wish they had a few features that upgrade U has but this has more recent questions.

I am currently using this app to help study for my 3a/e exams and I ran into a subscription problem right before I went out to sea where I wouldn’t have service and I got in contact with the customer service and they resolved my issue before days end! I am very satisfied with this application and all of its uses, it really helps me narrow down the questions and helps me determine what I am sufficient in and what I am not. Very grateful for this application!

This app has less questions than the usb offered by Mariner Advancement, but it has more than enough for you to pass the tests. It is great due to the ability to be used on different devices, but it has some minor bugs. (Nothing to worry about though) I just wish that the answers were shuffled every time I saw them because I began just to memorize the answers location not the actual answer. Great app if you don’t want to spend over a hundred dollars to pass.
The app is easy to use, and a nice, clean interface. It is set up in a way that lets you focus on studying rather than wasting time messing with the controls to flip through the deck of questions.
Hey guys, let me just say that the app is a great way to study for the USCG examination as it provides the solutions and (mostly) updated pictures expected in the test. (Engineer Side) However, comparing the diversity of questions from Mariner Advancement (Thumb Drive) vs the subscription benefits the app or account provides (even though most questions are similar), it is clear that Sea Trials isn’t as updated as of 2021. If you can afford the Mariner Advancement drive, I encourage you to take that first and reinforce it with Sea Trials as a means of studying on your phone. Wish the beak of luck to you guys on passing your modules :)
This app is great. It makes it so easy for me to study a few questions when I have time, but it also gives you the ability to put in a couple of hours at a time. I used it everyday for rules of the road and would do at least 50 questions a night, and if I didn’t know, or wasn’t 100% sure on the answer, I would bookmark it. After going through every single question I would go through my bookmark questions to review the questions I wasn’t so confident on. I would recommend this for any rating, licensed or unlicensed. You can’t go wrong with this app.
Great app, easy use for studying
I am currently a student in a merchant marine college study to become a third assistant engineer and this is one of my final semester here and i will soon be taking the license exam. This app is perfect for studying as it is easy and portable, it also helps pinpoint exactly what subject i need to focus on. Definitely will be using this as I further progress my career and degree!!!

If you are studying to upgrade or get your license, this is the app to use. The app keeps track of your stats so you know which topics you need to study more. Also, being able to flag tricky questions specificallly to review later is very helpful. The ease of taking your phone out to go through a few questions whenever you want is great, especially since you do not require internet!
