I really enjoy this app. It works great on Mac and iPhone.

Currently holding my Chiefmate unlimited oceans, this app was vital to me upgrading. I grew up using upgrade U but there is no comparison. Hammer the general modules on here till you’re making 90’s, in conjunction with lapware later on towards the end before testing and you will do just fine. Remember to test on the practice exams from the USCG website. Those exams will be very similar to the questions you will see exam day. 🫡

App works much better after the recent fix to the last mega update. I’m studying for my CM/Master Unlimited and this is my go-to app for studying. I love how it tracks your problem areas so you know what needs to be improved. Thank you for taking the time to respond to my last feedback post and fix the issue. You guys are great!!

Just want to thanks to the developers! No way I would’ve passed my tests today without it! Can not recommend this app enough if you’re studying for your exams!

Normally don’t leave reviews but this is better than ChatGPT

it has been a great resource that is updated frequently. A suggestion that I made has even been implemented and it works great!

This is all you need to pass the 4 exams the app is great and is way more relevant information than other platforms. Cannot recommend them enough.full disclosure i tried the books and MA and was far superior in every aspect.I rarely leave reviews but this deserves it

I was having issues with the UI and the app crashing. I reached out to customer service and they helped me resolve all of these issues. They were quick to respond and clear in their explanation on how to fix the problems I was having. I highly recommend this app. Currently studying for my 500ton mate’s tests.

Awesome app

Superb app ux/ui, self hosted LLM is actually extremely useful. Good privacy policy (as of January 2026). Pay money for this.

Great App! Great Resource

Update is great. App is very good. Passed all my exams.

I have been using the app and the website for a long while now. The new updated version has been helping me study so much better. I highly recommend giving it a try to see for yourself. The customer service on their end has also been helpful and responsive. 10/10 highly recommend giving it a try.

After having recently passed my 500 ton after a couple of attempts spanning over multiple years, I can say with the utmost certainty that this app is one of the only things that you really need to prepare for a uscg national license exams. The creator of Sea Trials is dedicated, and you can tell that they truly care about their product. Will continue to pay for my subscription just to support such an invaluable resource for any mariner looking to upgrade their license.

Best CG exam study tool in my opinion. The support team is prompt with fixing any issues. I've used the app daily for months on end prepping for my exams and I've found it to be the easiest to use. Highly recommend!

Best app for USCG Exams ! No need for a thumb drive is crucial in being able to access from any device at anytime you want to get a quick study in between other things.

Great app, expanding my knowledge on coast guards exams, very helpful. Would rate 10/10 telling all the mariners about this app.

I am studying for my third engineers unlimited and this app is by far the best resource. I like the offline feature which allows me to study even while at sea. definetly recommend if your upgrading or hawsepiping!

The best all around app for your Coast Guard exam. Tracks all your practice test progress and tells you how to break down those dreaded confusing questions of multiple "correct" answers.

Just passed my 1ae tests just using this app. You don't need any other study material

Great app for coast guard exams. Excellent customer service as well.

This is much more user friendly than Upgrade-U. However, I do recommend getting both. Sea Trials is better for learning the material, but does not have to ability to make tests for you unlike Upgrade U.

Some questions are wrong, but that’s the coastguard fault and you can report them to the creators. But like the books with you 24/7. I practice at the gym doing cardio waiting for stuff. Perfect instead of scrolling the gram or mindless Facebook

This app has helped me more than any other study tool while studying for the 3rd mates license test I have coming up here at KP.
