• If a fire is on one side of a steel bulkhead, what would you feel or see on the other side as the fire gets more intense? • Which of the listed signs would make you worried that the fire is no longer contained to just the original space? • Are these signs independent of each other, or do they often appear together as the boundary heats up?
• Compare each choice to standard shipboard firefighting teachings on boundary patrol indications. • Ask whether each sign alone would reasonably indicate that the fire may be affecting the adjacent compartment. • Decide if it is more realistic that only one, some, or all of the listed conditions would suggest fire spread.
