• Study the flow paths of sealing water (V10), opening water (V15), and closing water (V16) shown in MO-0024. • Think about what physically has to happen inside a sliding-bowl purifier for a sludge ejection: the bowl bottom must open, not just the seal be renewed. • Notice what closing V5 – water outlet does to the water pressure acting on the operating slide (c) and sliding bowl (a).
• Which valve actually supplies the water that MOVES the operating slide to open the discharge ports for sludge, and which valve is only for maintaining the water seal during normal separation? • When V5 is closed, does pressure in the operating system increase or decrease, and which combination of V10 and V15 positions would allow that pressure to act as opening water rather than just sealing water? • If both V10 and V15 were either open or closed together, what would happen to the internal water circuits—would the bowl open, stay closed, or simply refill the seal?
• From the legend, confirm which line is labeled sealing water (V10) and which is opening water (V15), and trace each to the operating slide area. • Make sure your chosen option provides a path for opening water to enter while not unnecessarily feeding or dumping sealing water. • Verify that with V5 shut, your V10/V15 choice would realistically create the hydraulic condition needed to lift the operating slide and open the sludge ports, rather than just maintain normal operation.
