🔍 Key Concepts

• Running fix / two separate fixes between 0706 and 0731 • Using multiple bearings to establish an exact fix on the second time • Speed formula: Speed = Distance / Time (with time in hours)

💭 Think About

• How do you use "Trestle B in line" at 0706 to mark a precise position on the chart? What kind of line of position does that give you? • At 0731 you have three simultaneous bearings. How do you combine these to find one unambiguous fix on the chart? • Once you have both fixes, how do you determine the distance run between them and convert the 25‑minute interval into hours for the speed calculation?

✅ Before You Answer

• Be sure your 0706 fix and 0731 fix are both plotted correctly before measuring distance. • Confirm that you measure distance along the track line between the two fixes, not just between any two LOPs. • Convert 25 minutes to hours correctly before using the speed formula $\text{Speed} = \frac{\text{Distance (NM)}}{\text{Time (hours)}}$ .
