What does "in step" refer to in regards to towing?
When turning, both the towed and towing vessels turn at the same time.
Both the towed and towing vessels reach a wave crest or trough at the same time.
The towed vessel follows exactly in the wake of the towing vessel.
There is no catenary in the towing hawser.
