If you make an error while signaling by flashing light what action should you take?
• Morse flashing light procedures for correcting transmission errors • Difference between an error signal and a repeat (RPT) request • How corrections apply: word just sent vs. entire message
• When you realize you made a mistake in a word you are transmitting by flashing light, do you need to start the entire message over, or just fix the part you got wrong? • Which signal is specifically used to show "I made an error" in my own transmission, as opposed to asking the other station to repeat something? • Think about whether the correction applies from the incorrect word or whether it means going back to the start of the whole message.
• Identify which option refers to the special error signal used in Morse/flashing light (not radiotelephone or flags). • Eliminate any option that clearly means "please repeat what you sent", rather than "I am correcting myself". • Choose the option where you signal the error and then correct only the affected word, not automatically the entire message.
