How are Inmarsat-C LESs selected by the operator?
The operator can program the terminal for their preferred default LES codes for Distress and routine communications.
The NCS for each ocean region downloads the current LES codes into the terminal.
The NCS selects the optimum LES code for both Routine and Distress communication.
The LES codes can be selected for routine communications but the NCS chooses the best LES for Distress Alerts.
